Premier Banned

Premier Tim Houston, Attorney General Scott Armstrong and Leah Martin, who is the minister responsible for leading negotiations on Aboriginal treaty rights, have been banned from a Nova Scotia First Nation. The Sipekne’katik First Nation says if any of them trespass on their land, they could be subject to a $50,000 fine. The move comes after the provincial government told police services in the province to crack down on illegal cannabis operations. First Nations have criticized the directive, saying the province is interfering with law enforcement and targeting First Nations.
