Lunenburg Wastewater interruptions begin Monday

Upgrades to Lunenburg’s Wastewater Treatment Plant begins today. The town is replacing equipment and performing replacement work. Officials say the work is integral to the system’s operation. During the work periods there will be disruptions to the town’s wastewater treatment service and wastewater will be released into Lunenburg Front Harbour from three relief points. The work will be done today for a 21-hour period from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. Tuesday. During this time residents are asked to reduce wastewater by minimizing running water, flushing toilets or doing laundry. Another two work periods are tentatively scheduled during the week of March 9th for 21-hours and six hours the week of March 30th.
