Will more snow greet Shubenacadie Sam on Groundhog Day?

While the province continues to dig out from last weekend’s snowstorm, the long-range forecast for this weekend is calling for more snow beginning Sunday and continuing through Monday. The Weather Network says another nor’easter is tracking toward Atlantic Canada for the end of the weekend. Environment Canada has not yet predicted any snowfall amounts. But Monday is Shubenacadie Sam’s big day.  Sam will make his annual Groundhog Day prediction on Monday at Shubenacadie Wildlife Park. Nova Scotians are invited to attend in person or follow the event live on the park’s Facebook page. World Wetlands Day, also on February 2, and recognizes the importance of wetlands. Visitors to the wildlife park can explore hands-on displays and activities that highlight restored wetlands and their environmental benefits. The park will be open following the event and will close at 2 p.m.
