Salvation Army asking for gift card donations for victims of Bridgewater fire

The community has stepped up to help people left displaced from last week’s fire in Bridgewater. A spokesperson for the Salvation Army, which is spearheading a drive to raise much needed items to help those displaced by the fire, says gift cards would help most. In a statement to Go Rock, John Bignell says they have received plenty of clothes, "We have enough clothing for the families to select from, but small kitchen appliances and dishes would be helpful.” Bignell suggests gift cards would be best for families right now, “We are considering asking the public to bring in gift cards so that displaced residents can shop locally for the things they need to rebuild.” The fire that took the life of one person is still under investigation. The Salvation Army will be taking donations today from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at their location on Pleasant Street in Bridgewater.
