Nova Scotia's new surgical robot is already hard at work. The multimillion-dollar robot at the QEII Health Sciences Centre has already been used for lung, chest, and colorectal surgeries. With the addition of the new da Vinci Xi to the hospital, bringing the total to three, QEII has performed more robot-assisted surgeries than any other hospital in Canada in January 2026. Donations through the QEII hospital’s foundation contributed $3.8 million to the cost.
