The NSLC says its total sales rose in the last fiscal year by 1.1 per cent. Overall, alcohol sales dropped 0.2 per cent, but cannabis sales rose 9.3 percent. The corporation says its profit margin declined 4.1 per cent to just $269 million. After putting American spirits back on the shelves in December, the province has given $5.3 million in net proceeds from U.S. alcohol sales to local food relief initiatives run by non-profits and charities across Nova Scotia.
