Five residents of Mahone Bay have thrown their hats in the ring for councillor positions. A special election is being held on February 14th to fill two positions left vacant by Councillor Rebecca Twanow and Deputy Mayor Colin Kingsmill. The nomination period closed on Tuesday. Kevin Boon, Michelle Gryphon, Bill Lewis, Katherine McCarrron and Cathie Slaughenwhite-Nowe are running for election. The election will be entirely online or done by phone using a PIN that has been mailed to eligible voters. Electronic voting will be open from 8:00 a.m. on February 5th to 7:00 p.m. on February 14th.
