MODL District 9 councillor Ben Brooks has resigned. His resignation was handed in yesterday and is effective immediately. Brooks was elected to council in 2024. Mayor Elspeth McLean-Wile thanked him for his service and wished him well in the future. The Deputy Mayor has been assigned to the ward and will assist residents of Ward 9 until a special election is held. The election date will be announced within four weeks once it is approved by council.
