Mi’kmaw Chiefs pledge to work with Whale Sanctuary Project

The Assembly of Nova Scotia Mi’kmaw Chiefs has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Whale Sanctuary Project. The Chiefs are pledging to work together with the sanctuary on educational outreach and research. The Whale Sanctuary, which is U.S. owned, plans to build a 40-hectare floating net enclosure in Wine Harbour. It held a groundbreaking ceremony in June after receiving approval from the province last October.
