Lunenburg town council has approved an additional $50,000 for the Town Hall Roof Replacement project, bringing the total project budget to $360,000, funded by Deed Transfer Tax revenue. Officials say the increase is needed because additional deterioration was discovered during instruction, including rotten fascia boards that must be replaced with custom-moulded wood to match the building’s original design and meet heritage requirements. The roof replacement is the first phase of improvements to the building’s exterior.
