January declared Alzheimer’s Awareness Month in MODL

Mayor Elspeth McLean-Wyle has declared January Alzheimer’s Awareness Month in MODL. There are 16,000 people living with dementia in Nova Scotia, and that number is expected to almost double to 30,000 by 2050. McLean-Wyle also recognized the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia for its commitment to alleviating the personal and social consequences of the disease and for its work in promoting research into the causes and cures.
