Canada and China strike partial deal easing tariffs on seafood Seafood producers may be breathing a sigh of relief this morning. Canada and China have at least partially resolved issues over electric vehicles, seafood, canola and other agricultural products. Prime Minister Mark Carney emerged from his meeting with the Chinese President this morning with news that Chinese tariffs on lobster, crabs, canola meal and peas would be lifted beginning in March to at least the end of this year. Canada has agreed to allow 49,000 Chinese EVs into the country.
